Low maintenance dry garden

Our clients had a curved gravel area outside the backdoor they wished made into a patio They also a strong idea in mind for the large veg bed that stood next to the gravel area. They wanted to be able to feed the birds from the old tree stump so this was kept. But they no longer wanted to use the bed for veg. Instead they wanted a low maintenance gravel/dry river bed garden with a small water feature. No electricity was in the area and they wanted a solar feature.

The patio was a sandstone random pattern with a resin pointing for a longer lasting option. We translated their design after some discussion and I added the planting to compliment their design.
